We apply Physics, Chemistry and Engineering to:
1) Develop technologies for biology:
Visualizing spatiotemporal dynamics of cell signaling in vivo with a new class of fluorescent reporters for protease ($$$), kinase ($$$), GPCR, small GTPase, etc.
Identifying and characterizing protein-protein interactions ($$$, ended), including E3 ligase and substrates.
Manipulating proteins and cells in vivo.
2) Use these biological tools to investigate:
Animal development using model organisms including Drosophila, zebrafish and mice
Diseases including neurodegenerative diseases (ALS, PD, AD), brain tumorigenesis, pathogen-host interaction
